The CNMI Department of Public Works’ Energy Division announced yesterday that it will hold Residential Compact Fluorescent Lamps Distribution Events under the Energy, Efficiency, and Conservation Block Grant to provide individuals residing on Rota the opportunity to receive free energy-efficient Energy Star-rated CFLs to help lower energy use and cost to promote energy efficiency and conservation within the CNMI.

The DPW/Energy Division EECBG staff will be distributing 16 energy-efficient Energy Star-rated CFLs to residential consumers. The event will be available to distribute CFLs on a first-come, first-served basis and while supplies lasts.

Distribution schedule and location will be at the Rota Mayor’s Office, Antonio Camacho Atalig Memorial Library Building, in Tatachog, on Aug. 27, 28, and 29, from 8:30am to 11:30am and from 1pm to 4:30pm.

In order to receive the CFLs, residential consumers must present a valid identification card with photo and a copy of their most recent CUC utility bill with their name, account number, and electric consumption on the billing.

Businesses are not eligible to participate in the event. Additionally, if for any reason unforeseen situations arise regarding flight schedules, the events will automatically be cancelled until such time other arrangements are confirmed.

For more information or questions regarding the event, call the DPW Energy Division’s EECBG Office at (670) 664-4487/89/90 and ask for Maggie Untalan or Shawn Pangelinan. (DPW)
