Free board of directors workshop

The Marianas Alliance of Non-Governmental Organizations is offering a free community workshop on the roles and responsibilities of the board of directors. The workshop is scheduled for May 11, 2022, from 9am to 12pm at the MANGO Resource Center.

This workshop curriculum includes information on the division of responsibilities between the board od directors and the executive director. Specific fiduciary responsibilities will also be presented. Learn about standard board operations like setting the agenda for a board meeting, what should be included in board minutes, and how to write a board resolution. Doors open at 8:30am to allow networking among participants. Refreshments will be provided.
“I attended the Lemmai-Mei Project prior to my current role as senior project coordinator at [Friends of the Mariana Trench]. Attending the workshop series is also a great place to connect with other organizations across the CNMI. Although I had already been working in the nonprofit sector for a few years, this series helped me to hone my work experience and better prepare me for my role at the Friends. I’ve met and learned so much by listening to the experiences of the program participants,” said Joleen Salas, who is a past participant of a MANGO workshop.
