Sonics 670, Let’s Move Marianas, the Division of Youth Services, and the CHCC Public Health Services Non-Communicable Disease Programs will be hosting a free basketball clinic tomorrow, June 10, from 8am to 11:30am at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.
“Calling all basketball enthusiasts in the CNMI! Join us for an action-packed day of hoops, camaraderie, and useful coaching. Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the basics or a seasoned player aiming to take your skills to new heights, this clinic is made just for you,” said a social media post from organizers.

The clinic, which will teach attendees how to dribble, pass, and shoot in basketball, will be led by Omar Ajoste.
The Sonics 670 head coach and basketball referee played for different basketball clubs on Saipan including the Sonics, CK, and Laly 4 before becoming a coach and referee.
He added that his basketball journey wouldn’t have been possible without the help of former Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands president and former referee Abner Venus, who recently passed.
Ajoste said the basketball clinic will open with a Zumba session to warm-up participants of the three-hour event.
“This clinic is open to all ages and skill levels, so bring your friends, family, and fellow basketball enthusiasts along. See you at the basketball clinic,” organizers added.
