FOA board holds annual retreat, planning meeting
The annual Friends of the Arts board retreat and strategic planning meeting took place on July 7, 2012, at the Marianas Resort and Spa.
The current board leadership consists of Susan Fishman-Tudor, president; Paul Dujua, vice president; Frank Gibson, treasurer; and Ruth De Lemos-Loyola, secretary. Board members include Harold Easton, Leo Goode, and Andrew Golden. They welcomed two new board members to the team, Susan Batage and Leila Staffler.
The Friends of the Arts’ mission is to be a volunteer, self-sustaining, non-profit corporation that promotes and provides opportunities for the Northern Mariana Islands community to experience, participate in, and enjoy the arts. The intent of all FOA projects is to enrich and educate the community through artistic processes by creating opportunities for the CNMI community to experience, participate in, and better appreciate the arts.
This year’s strategic planning included reviewing the existing FOA vision, mission and values, and determining the slate of shows that will be produced by the FOA this year. Research is being done on the availability of each show and the selection for the upcoming season will be announced once finalized. Community members can plan ahead and expect shows: Oct. 12, 13, and 14; December TBA; Feb. 14, 15, and 16; and May 17, 18, and 19.
Friends of the Arts would like to invite all community members to join with FOA and support and attend each show this year. General membership and sponsorship of FOA is $20 for an individual or $25 for families. General membership in the Friends of the Arts translates into a discount to all shows for the year and assisting the Friends of the Arts in providing live theater to the community.
