Flores kicks off fundraiser tonight

Saipan Mayor Donald Flores will kick off his first fundraiser tonight at the Pacific Island Club’s Magellan Restaurant at 6pm.
Re-election for Flores committee chair James Cabrera is inviting the public to attend tonight’s event.
Tickets are $50 per person and the dinner will be prime rib and seafood buffet.
“Music will be provided so please come down and join us for a fun, nice evening,” said Cabrera.
Flores is seeking re-election in this November’s general polls. He is running as an independent candidate.
Flores said that he would like to extend his appreciation and gratitude to his friends, family and most of all his supporters.
“They have stood by me over the years and have given me the encouragement and motivation to continue serving our community,” he said.
Flores cites as one of his accomplishments the $413,000 grant he secured from the Office of Insular Affairs to purchase heavy equipment.
With the grant money, Flores said he intends to immediately procure the much-needed equipment that will enable his office to address various village concerns and serve the community effectively and efficiently.
