Acting governor Victor B. Hocog directed all CNMI government agencies yesterday to lower the CNMI flag to hall-staff the whole day yesterday to reflect a similar federal order to commemorate those who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941.

President Donald J. Trump had ordered that the U.S. flag be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the federal government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its territories and possessions until sunset, as a mark of respect for the American patriots who died as a result of their service at Pearl Harbor.

Trump also directed that the U.S. flag be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations. (PR)
