Fitial  Pacific Xtreme Combat heavyweight champion Kelvin “The Big Hit” Fitial has yet to hear from PXC about a title defense bout after his victory over Guam’s Roque Martinez in June last year.

Fitial of Marianas Elite defeated Spike 22’s Martinez (5-4-1) via technical knockout in the fourth round of their rematch held in Manila, Philippines, on June 11, to improve his card to 12 wins. Fitial also has six losses, two draws, and one no contest on his record.

In addition to winning the PXC heavyweight championship, Fitial has also fought and won a bout in Legend Fighting Championship 3 in September 2010 in Wan Chai, Hong Kong and was hailed locally as the People’s Champ by Trench Tech Purebred Promotions following an iffy draw decision in his first meeting with Martinez.

Mixed Martial Arts supporters claimed that Fitial defeated Martinez not once, but twice, including the fight that resulted in a controversial draw in January 2011 in PXC 22: Battle For The Belt at the University of Guam’s Fieldhouse.

There are words swaying about an ownership dispute within PXC, however nothing has been confirmed about the issue. There is a also no update about Fitial’s title defense, as PXC has not responded to any emails Saipan Tribune sent.

According to Fitial, his contract expired on June 11 and he never received details about retaining his belt.

Fitial did not comment on much more than that, but did share plans of possibly traveling to Japan to participate in a separate MMA charity event. He also expresses hopes of gaining support from the Marianas Visitor Authority to help with the traveling expenses.
