Gov. Benigno R. Fitial left for Guam on Sunday night to attend yesterday’s Pacific Islands Development Bank board of governors’ meeting.

PIDB is a regional development financial institution based in Guam. Its members include the CNMI, Guam, Palau, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae.

Press secretary Angel Demapan said yesterday that the governor will be back today.

The governor, who is expected to be off-island again next week, has made several off-island trips this year, including one in October to the Philippines for “urgent family matter” and the one in September in China for over a week.

That was less than two weeks after Fitial returned from New Caledonia on official business. Other trips were to Alaska, California, Washington, D.C. and other states in the mainland, as well as in Japan, Pohnpei, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
