First win for Ador; fifth for Dianne
Ador Dimaano earned his first monthly crown, while Dianne Camacho clinched her fifth as the two veteran bowlers ruled the December roll-offs for the King and Queen of the Lanes held over the weekend at the Saipan Bowling Center.
Dimaano competed in both days of the December tournament, but nobody came close to beating his final-day tally of 816 pinfalls, giving him the win in the last roll-off for this year and a spot in the finals set next month.

He had a roller coaster four-game series of 154, 259, 177 and 226 in Day 1 for the 816 toal and 204 average, which gave him a 39-pin advantage over his closest pursuer Tony Verdaguer, who finished with 777.
Dimaano, who also bowled on the first day but only finished with a subpar 662—129, 187, 147 and 199—pocketed the $90 top prize and a ticket to the season-ending tournament next month.
Verdaguer only competed last Sunday and had a four-game series of 190, 196, 168 and 223 for a 194.25 average that earned him $40. Former CNMI youth bowler Raymond Zapanta came in at third with 766—186, 164, 214, 202—good for $25.
In the women’s division, Camacho, who is already assured of a spot in next month’s Queen of the Lanes finals, topped the monthly roll-off for the fifth time this year with a 766 tally for an 82-pin victory over Tess Fabie’s 684.

Camacho could not make it to the 200s in the first three games, tallying scores of 189, 171 and 165. She, however, saved the best for last and knocked down 241 pins for a 191.5 average to seal the win and get the $80 winner’s purse.
It was Camacho’s second back-to-back win after also ruling the monthly tournaments in June and July. She also topped the November and September roll-offs.
Fabie failed to match Camacho’s performance as she could only muster 196, 158, 158 and 172—good enough for $35. She averaged 171 in the four-game series.
Camacho’s daughter, Carrie, finished third overall with a 678—201, 175, 144, 158—for a 169.5 average and the $20 prize.
