Despite her late preparations, newcomer Jordan Monderen still managed to win in the Figure Division of the 2019 Dee Clayton Classic Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship held last Saturday at Pacific Islands Club Saipan.
The Latte Built Fitness staff was ecstatic with her victory in her first appearance in the DC Classic and recalled the late and tough preparations she had to go through.
“I started a little late to the show so I wasn’t expecting it (win) at all. I had a lot of amazing support, so it was good. This is my first competition and I’ve always wanted to try something like this. I was a little scared for the bikinis and high heels but finally, I was like whatever, that’s just an excuse so I just had to push past it,” Monderen said.
Monderen added that the months of training was fun, although she found giving up her sugar gravings the hardest part of the preparations.
“The training was fun, but once it got closer to the end, it became more difficult especially since I love sweets. This morning was also hard because the prejudging was a little rough for me. I didn’t know the rules and stuff like that, but overall, it was an amazing experience,” she said.
After her winning debut, Monderen said she plans to participate again in the DC Classic.
