First Gay Pride celebration at GIG
The first-ever Gay Pride celebration will take place this Sunday at the GIG Discotheque starting at 6pm.
Event organizer Sharmaine Casquero is inviting everyone to an evening that would celebrate equality while having fun with fashionable members of the Saipan’s LGBT community.
“This is the most extravagant and memorable one because we celebrate our rights and I hope the public will support the event,” she said.
Casquero said she is glad that the Division of Public Health is financially supporting them to be able to run this event.
She said that 13 different individuals are confirmed to showcase their unique costumes and parading all over the GIG Discotheque.
The Gay Pride celebration will feature the Paper Dolls wearing fun and colorful costumes to represent the gay community.
The Saipan Music and Studio will also be performing to gain support for their quest on the International Hip Hop competition, where they will be representing the CNMI.
