A fire broke out at a barbecue stand in San Vicente, while two men were injured during a vehicular accident, causing one vehicle to overturn on As Terlaje Hill. The incidents happened over the weekend.

No one was injured in the blaze, according to Derek Gersonde, information officer of the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

The fire department received a call from the Department of Public Safety’s 911 on Friday at 4:31pm about a structure fire in San Vicente.

Firefighters from the Susupe fire station responded and placed the blaze under control at 4:42pm.

Gersonde said the arson investigation unit’s investigation revealed that the cause of the fire at the barbecue stand was electrical. The case is deemed closed.

The barbecue stand sustained minor damage.

In the vehicular accident, Gersonde said they received a call from DPS 911 on Sunday at 6:28pm about an overturned vehicle on the upgrade of As Terlaje Hill.

Firefighters and medics from Koblerville and Garapan fire stations responded to the scene.

Gersonde said emergency medical technicians came upon two vehicles, with one overturned.

Both male drivers were brought to the Commonwealth Health Center’s emergency room.

Gersonde said one driver complained of pain on the left arm, while the other driver had neck pain. Emergency medical technicians took precautions to stabilize the driver’s neck and spine.

Gersonde said details about how the accident happened should be referred to DPS.

As of yesterday, DPS had yet to release information about the incident.
