Younis Art Studio Inc., the owner of Marianas Variety, has already satisfied its tax obligations to the CNMI government, according to the Department of Finance.
Richard F. Santos, acting manager for Finance’s collection and remittance branch, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the NMI a certificate of release of CNMI tax lien to Younis Art Studio Inc.
Santos certified that the company has satisfied the requirements of Revenue and Tax regulations for taxes amounting to $328,412.63 and “for all statutory additions, penalties, or both.”
“Therefore, the lien for these taxes and additions, has been released,” Santos said in court papers.
Finance filed the notice of tax lien against Younis Art Studio Inc. in February this year. The company allegedly failed to pay its Business Gross Revenue Tax from 2005 to 2010 and its withholding tax from 2006 to 2009 in the total amount of $328,412.63.
Younis Art Studio Inc., through counsel Robert T. Torres, stated that the company already has an agreement with Finance, which it continues to honor and has every intention of fulfilling.
