Finance to distribute government W2’s

The Division of Revenue and Taxation will begin releasing W2’s with each department’s payroll, according to Finance Secretary Larrisa Larson.

“Following the recent conclusion of the distribution of 2017 W2-CM and Annual Reconciliation forms to employers, our office will now transmit W2’s to all government employees. Anyone who does not receive their W2 should contact us immediately. Form 1099s have also been released so taxpayers should start receiving those in the mail by next week. Anyone who does not receive their 1099 within two weeks should contact Revenue and Taxation,” Larson said.

Gov. Ralph DLG Torres emphasized that the current distribution of W2 forms enhances the timeliness of tax disbursement.

“Last year, the Department of Finance worked toward improving the efficiency of tax refunds and rebates. I am pleased with the efforts of their team this year and I encourage our government employees to prepare their tax filings as soon as possible to mitigate any delays,” Torres said.

Larson added that taxpayers also have the option to avail of tax refund advances if needed.

“We’ve had successful collaboration with the Bank of Saipan and Express Financial over the years and that collaboration continues. Anyone who needs their tax refund before the scheduled release date can bring a stamped copy of their filed tax return to either institution and apply for a loan against their tax refund. Both of our partners have expressed that they are looking forward to working with our taxpayers,” Larson said.

Tax forms will be available online at www.cnmidof.net by the end of the week.
