Fiesta Resort to hold Sophia Walk on June 23
Registration is now open for the 19th Annual Sophia Walk set for June 23.
Named after former first lady, Sophia Tenorio, the acronym SOPHIA stands for “Saipan Outdoor Physical Health Invigorating Adventure.” Incorporating a new route for year 19, the course starts at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, which happens to be the main sponsor and organizer of the event.
Participants will walk/run from the Fiesta beach north towards Micro Beach, joining the footpath towards Smiling Cove and up to the top of the Eloy S. Inos Peace Park and back. The course measures approximately six kilometers and will offer participants a raffle and refreshments plus an award for the “best hat.”
All proceeds from the event will benefit the CHCC Volunteers Association. Registration time starts at 6:30am, while the event begins at 7am. Early registration is $10 per person (ages 4 and over) on or before June 22 and increases to $15 per person on race day.
The first 500 participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, donated by the Tan Siu Lin Foundation. Participants may register at Fiesta Resort & Spa, Kanoa Resort, Century Hotel, and I-Shop. Registration forms can also be picked up at CHCC Gift Shop. Checks can be made payable to CHCC Volunteers Association.
