First Hawaiian Bank’s two Saipan branches located in Gualo Rai and Oleai donated pencils, rulers, and erasers for the Marianas Tourism Education Council’s school Outreach Program, according to an announcement by Laura-Lynn V. Dacanay, First Hawaiian Bank senior vice president, Guam and CNMI Region manager.

“The Marianas Tourism Education Council is appreciative for the support from the First Hawaiian Bank. MTEC’s Education Outreach Program is currently at the elementary school level and these school supplies donated by FHB will be a welcomed part of the program.”

MTEC believes “Tourism is Everyone’s Business” and actively does outreach at local Saipan schools to teach children about the importance of tourism to the region’s economy. They learn how they can do their part to support tourism and make their island a welcoming place for tourist to visit and explore.

The school supplies were presented on Feb. 10, 2016, at the First Hawaiian Bank Oleai Branch. (PR)
