“World Marriage Day is held every year on the second Sunday in February. For this year, World Marriage Day is on Feb. 8, 2015,” the group added in a statement.
The M.E. group is inviting couples in the CNMI to join its community.
In a message, Torres emphasized the importance of marriage for CNMI residents.
“Marriage is not easy. It takes hard work, but in looking at the way my parents raised us, and looking at my own children, it is worth it,” the official said. “Raising children is one of the toughest and most rewarding things we will do in our lives. I am grateful to have my wife, Diann, to be my partner in this amazing journey.”
“In recognizing the importance of marriage, we must celebrate the love that bonds a union, but also, and maybe more importantly, we must recognize the sacrifice and understanding that is necessary to make it work,” he added.
“Congratulations to all the married couples in the CNMI for continuing to make it work. Stay strong and remember to love one another,” he said.
