The Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence and the Family Violence Task Force are inviting members of the community to participate in the family fun event, the Day of Unity tomorrow, Oct. 20, 2018.

The Day of Unity, which is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month activities in October, will be held from 11am to 3pm at the Garapan Central Park area.

It will feature a variety of kid-friendly games and activities including a bounce house, live entertainment, exhibits, as well as raffle prizes given out throughout the day. There will also be vendors selling lunch, as well as popular treats like ice cream and shave ice.

“With the Day of Unity, we hope to give the community an opportunity to come together to have fun and be more informed about domestic violence,” said NMCADSV program manager and DVAM Planning Committee co-chair Angelyn N. Palacios.

“We believe it takes all of us to create a future without domestic violence and we want to help others understand what they can do to help their families and their community,” said Palacios.

Palacios also noted that a variety of incentives including 200 T-shirts with the 2018 Domestic Violence Awareness Month theme for the CNMI “Support. Encourage. Empower.” or “S.E.E. a Future Without Domestic Violence” will be given out to Day of Unity participants.

For more information, contact NMCADSV at (670) 234-3878 or email info@endviolencenmi.org or contact FVTF at (670) 664-4583/4584.
