Renowned pianist Roman Rudnytsky has once again shared his knowledge of the performing arts with Saipan, performing on the piano in two concerts this week and doing demonstrations in several schools on the island.

This is Rudnytsky’s ninth visit to Saipan. He said that coming to Saipan is always a great experience and he has enjoyed every visit. Throwing in a chance to let people experience the wonders of classical music is a plus.

About 50 individuals gathered at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center yesterday to experience Rudnytdsky’s performance on the piano.

Rudnytsky performed a special “Magic of Love” concert last night that included selections from classical masters like Chopin, Albeniz, Beethoven, Debussy, and Rachmaninoff.

Neil Fama, the grand prize winner in Bridge Capital’s CNMI’s Got Talent, also entertained guests during intermission with a demonstration of his magical talent.

Since arriving last Feb. 3, Rudnytsky has visited CNMI schools, both public and private, playing for their enjoyment and discussing classical music with the students. He will continue his school visits daily during his two-week stay in the CNMI.

Rudnytsky travels at his own expense and donates his time to the community.

For those interested in catching a Rudnytsky performance, his second concert will be on Saturday, Feb. 17, also at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center.

This performance will also be open to the public at the cost of $6 for adult Friends of the Arts members, $8 for adult non-members, $4 for students and children over age 4.

Doors will open at 6:30pm and the concert will begin at 7pm. Reservations can be made by contacting Frank Gibson by phone or text at 287-7476 or by email at flgibson@yahoo.com.
