The Falcons flew past the Natives, 8-4, in their makeup game of the 2023 Tan Holdings-Saipan Baseball League season on Tuesday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
The Natives had an early lead as they scored three in the first two innings from Tonai Cameron, Austin Benavente, and Juan Tenorio.
The Falcons scored just one in the first inning and were down by one run after the third inning after Henry Aguon scored for a 2-3 game.
The Falcons, who are third in the standings, didn’t let down by one run to stop them from coming back.
They put up one more run from Aguon in the fifth inning to even up the score, 3-3, then they scored two more in the sixth to take the lead. The Falcons’ J.D. Magofna scored after he got on base on a single after another single by A.J. Evangelista.
The Natives then could not produce and went scoreless in the next three innings.
The game swayed to the Falcons’ advantage when they scored four more in the seventh inning and as the Natives put up just one more run, for a 8-4 game.
The Falcons’ Angel Falig got on base from an error and scored on a passed ball, then a double by Ian Norita allowed him to score after Keoni Serrano’s at-bat. Serrano then scored after an RBI single by Aguon.
Aguon ended up going 3-4 at bats with one walk, and had three RBIs. Meanwhile, three of his teammates reached base from being hit by pitches.
There are a few more makeup games in the 2023 Tan Holdings-Saipan Baseball League season before the postseason which is slated to start at the end of July.
