Fajardo wins SGA November Ace

Mariano Fajardo won the Saipan Golf Association’s November Ace of the Month held last Nov. 21 at the Kingfisher Golf Links.
The 65-year-old veteran topped a 13-player field after shooting a net score of 70. He actually finished second to Joe I. Sablan, but took the monthly plum as Sablan already won in February. As per SGA rules, a golfer could only win the monthly tilt once a year with his runner-up taking the monthly ace if it happens a second time.

Sablan topped the November tourney after firing a net 69 built around a gross score of 96 (50-46) and a handicap of 27. Attorney General Edward Manibusan completed the Top 3 with a net score of 71.
Fajardo now joins SGA’s 2021 Ace of the Month: Das Krishnan (January), Joe I. Sablan (February), Frances M. Sablan (March), Rick Kautz (April), Tony Benavente (May), Ed Manibusan (June), Nick Sablan (July), Jung Eun Teack (August), Larry Deleon Guerrero (September), and Alex Tudela (October).
In the closest to the pin, competition, Alex Tudela beat all comers in hole No. 6. Fajardo was without peer in hole No. 6, while Frances Sablan and Rick Kautz lorded it all over the competition in holes No. 12 and 15. Frances Sablan brought the lumber in hole No. 2. Ditto for Das Krishnan in hole No. 10.
The SGA Ace of the Month Tournament will be held in Dec. 12 at the Kingfisher Golf Links in Talafofo. Tee time is at 9:30am with a showtime of 9am.
