Excellent job for GCA students in PGFC Regionals
Thirteen Grace Christian Academy students bagged 14 out of 60 major awards for both divisions: kindergarten to 2nd grade and 3rd grade to 5th grade in the 2016 Primary Grades Forensic Conference regional competition held last March 29 at the GCA Saipan campus.
The first to third placers were awarded with gold, silver, and bronze medals and the fourth and fifth placers were given ribbons, respectively. The winners of gold medals are 1st grade Maria Sofia Gomez for Humorous Interpretation and 5th grade Soleil Lamar for Impromptu Speaking. The silver medalists are 3rd grade Jennifer Woo for Dramatic Interpretation and 4th grade Sara Keaton for Impromptu Speaking. The bronze medalists are 2nd graders Earl Jean Pantaleon for Humorous Interpretation and Nestor Ablog Jr. for Impromptu Speaking; and also 3rd graders Moira Grace Ernest for Dramatic Interpretation and Tae Hee Kim for Reader’s Forum.
The fourth placers were 3rd grader Tae Hee Kim for Humorous Interpretation, 2nd graders Azriel Fatialofa, and 5th grader Brandie Matsumoto both for Impromptu Speaking. The fifth placers were 4th graders Julia Jinang for Impromptu Speaking and Juruel Neilan Magtalas for Reader’s Forum and the 5th grade tandem of Soleil Lamar and Hye Jin Elliot for Duo Interpretation.
The administration, faculty staff, and parents of Grace Christian Academy would like to extend their congratulations to all the winners and thank everyone who participated including the coaches and judges in this year’s PGFC competitions.
Organized by the National Forensic League board and supported by the CNMI Public School System; Kindergarten to 5th grade students from private and public schools vied for this year’s PGFC regional awards in forensic arts: reading, public speaking, and interpretations.
