Former Saipan senator Ray Naraja Yumul has accepted the position of chief executive officer of Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC, Saipan Tribune learned over the weekend.

A source disclosed that Yumul started working as IPI CEO last Friday.

In an interview last Thursday, Yumul said he is considering the job because he wants the casino industry to succeed and resolve the many issues IPI is facing.

Yumul attended last Thursday the Commonwealth Casino Commission’s status conference in connection with CCC executive director’s complaints against IPI, but did not participate.

After the status conference, Yumul was seen shaking hands and talking with some commissioners.

It was CCC executive director Andrew Yeom who told the CCC board during last Wednesday’s monthly board meeting that Yumul and IPI have a verbal agreement for Yumul to be the CEO.

Yumul then stated he will be submitting to IPI a document that will itemize his conditions.
