Former senator Sixto K. Igisomar has been appointed to serve as the secretary of the Department of Public Lands. The appointment requires the advice and consent of the Senate.

Igisomar is required to file a statement of financial interest with the Office of the Public Auditor in compliance with the law.

The DPL secretary’s position has been vacant after Gov. Ralph DLG Torres appointed its chief, Marianne Concepcion-Teregeyo, to head the newly created Infrastructure and Recovery Program that is intended to streamline the close to $1 billion worth of recovery and infrastructure projects in the CNMI.
