Ex-policewoman allegedly assaults father’s wife

Police arrested a former policewoman who allegedly assaulted the current wife of her father at a residence in Dandan Wednesday night.

Jasmine M. King was taken to the Superior Court yesterday on charges of assault and battery and disturbing the peace.

Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho found probable cause to continue to detain King on those charges.

Camacho imposed a $1,250 cash bail following the court-adopted bail schedule.

King was seen crying after the hearing.

Saipan Tribune learned that King posted bail and was subsequently released.

A police officer testified in court that according to the victim, King pushed and repeatedly punched her. The officer did not indicate the reason for the assault.

When King’s father tried to stop her, King’s common-law husband allegedly punched the father then fled the scene.

The father was taken to the Commonwealth Health Center due to a dislocated left shoulder. As of press time, police had yet to find King’s common-law husband, also a former police officer.
