Ex-convict arrested again, this time for allegedly kicking girl
Mario O. Sablan, a 38-year-old ex-convict who is still on probation for theft, was arrested again over the weekend, this time for allegedly kicking a 15-year-old girl in the jaw and stomach.
During Monday’s hearing, Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho increased the $1,000 cash bail the court earlier set to $5,000.
Sablan was remanded into the custody of the Department of Corrections for assault and battery.
Preliminary hearing will be on Dec. 10.
Police detective Norman L. Skilling stated in his report that two police officers responded to an assault and battery incident at a residence in Lower Miha housing in Garapan on Sunday morning.
While officers were interviewing the girl at the Tourism Oriented Policing Section office in Lower Miha, Sablan and his common-law wife came, looking for the teenager.
Police then arrested Sablan.
Skilling said that Sablan and his common-law wife had an argument earlier that morning, angering the teenager who then threw an iPad cover at him. The common-law wife told the girl not to intervene.
Sablan later allegedly kicked the girl in the left jaw and stomach. The girl ran to her grandmother’s house, where her uncle called the police.
