A man, who was slapped with a nine-month prison term for entering a home and traumatizing a female minor in 2013, was arrested again last week for allegedly twice entering another house in Garapan.

Macpeterson C. Tipengeni, 22, a native of Chuuk, was arrested for burglary and disturbing the peace. His bail was set Friday at $10,250 cash. Preliminary hearing will be on Wednesday at 9am.

Police detective Daniel T. Joab stated in his report that a woman called the 911 emergency line on Wednesday at 6:37pm after she saw a man in her backyard looking into her kitchen window.

Joab said a police officer responded to the house, where he met the woman, who stays alone in a fenced residence.

The victim told the officer that she was taking a nap on the sofa when she heard a noise in the backyard and saw a man. She shouted at the man, who then immediately climbed over the 10-foot fence to the other side of the house.

The woman also disclosed that a day before, Tuesday, at 10pm while she was working on the computer in the living room, she saw the same man trying to enter her house. She shouted at the suspect, later identified as Tipengeni, to close the door and he walked away.

On Thursday, while two police officers were making a routine patrol in Lower Miha, they saw Tipengeni lying on the ground near an abandoned house.

The victim was brought to the location, where she identified Tipengeni as the man who entered her house twice.

Joab said Tipengeni admitted to police that he entered the house because he was looking for food.

Police learned that Tipengeni’s aunt also filed a complaint after he burglarized her house last Feb. 17.

In September 2013, Associate Judge David A. Wiseman sentenced Tipengeni to a nine-month prison term for entering a hotel staff housing in China Town, Garapan in the early morning hours on New Year’s Day in 2013, traumatizing a 13-year-old girl.

According to the plea deal, in the early morning hours of Jan. 1, 2013, Tipingeni unlawfully entered the residence of a family. The couple’s 13-year-old daughter was awakened by the noise, saw Tipengeni inside her home, and became extremely frightened.
