Conrad Anthony Borja Iba, a 37-year-old ex-convict, has admitted that he was behind the burglary at Shanny Laundry & Poker in Chalan Kanoa in May.

Iba pleaded guilty to burglary on Tuesday as part of a plea deal. He will be sentenced on Jan. 20, 2015.

Under the plea deal, Iba shall be sentenced to five years, all suspended except for a range of not less than one year and not more than three years to be determined at sentencing.

The Office of the Attorney General had charged Iba with burglary and theft.

According to the plea deal, Iba entered Shanny Laundy & Poker on May 19, 2014, with the purpose of stealing. A surveillance camera reportedly led police to identify Iba as the suspect.

The cashier told police that someone went into the storage room of the establishment and stole coins in the amount of $469.94 that were kept in buckets. A maintenance worker discovered the coins missing the following day, May 20.

Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo is presiding over the case.
