Eucon holds 16th commencement exercises
Eucon International School held its 16th Commencement Exercises last Friday, May 30, 2014, at 6pm. It was graced by Edward Earwood, executive director of the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools, which is affiliated with the American Association of Christian Schools, of which Eucon International School is a member.
Earwood challenged the graduates and all students to “fear God and obey His commandments for this is the purpose of our education; we are not being judged by faculty but by God, this is the whole duty of mankind.”

Dr. Christian Wei acknowledged and thanked the parents for their support. “You are the true heroes,” he added.
It was a remarkable event for three graduating classes: 6th grade, 8th grade, and 12th grade. There were eight senior graduates, 12 8th graders and nine 6th graders. Annual awards were also given from 1st grade through 12th grade.
Lingge Liu, who according to her couldn’t study well when she first came to Eucon, encouraged her fellow students “to trust God and be thankful, and to not let others to discourage and poison you.”
Her twin sister, Lingying Liu, said that “you cannot change the results but you can change during the process. High school is not only about studies but character building. Cherish your time and learn well.”
Chris Niu said he learned patience at Eucon.
Regis Perez reminded himself and the rest of the graduates that going to college is hard but that he knows that God is with him. He will be taking Information Technology at Bob Jones University in South Carolina.
Zhang Jia said that when she first came to Eucon, she didn’t understand much but “God used my teachers and classmates to help me.”
Tianxin “Star” Jia encouraged her fellow students to learn from their mistakes.
Cui Sining recalled that when she first came to Eucon, she encountered a lot of difficulties such as the tropical weather, the language barrier, and culture difference, and that she almost gave up. But through the encouragement of one teacher to trust in the Lord and work harder, she is now in front of her fellow students giving a graduation speech.
Eucon traditionally gives three annual awards: the President Award, Principal Award, and Dean’s Award. The President Award is granted to students who displayed high academic performance and exemplar attitude, while the Principal Award is for students who displayed a huge improvement, and the Dean’s Award is for students who gained the highest academic stature. Eucon always honor the students’ achievements every six weeks to encourage and aid them toward their goals. (Eucon)
