BARRIGADA, Guam—The Judiciary of Guam has made it to the top 30 lists of employers from all over the United States and its territories who are vying for the 2014 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.

The news comes as the local Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is preparing for its April 25, 2014 annual awards gala, which will be held at the Pacific Star Hotel in Tumon. With the theme of “We All Serve,” MG Bret D. Daugherty, the Adjutant General of the Washington National Guard, will keynote this year’s awards ceremony.

Fifty-five local employers will join the Judiciary of Guam in this awards gala where they will be honored for the extraordinary support they have extended their Guard and Reserve employees.

“Our employers have distinguished themselves for supporting our uniformed service members and their families and the best expression of this is ensuring that their service member employees have a job to go back to right after deployment. The employers we are honoring at this gala have instituted policies and initiative that inspires and encourages the military service of our service members. They make the sacrifice in order to guarantee that the rights and privileges of their service member employees are protected,” said David J. Sablan, ESGR state chair.

“Our yearly gala event is our way of thanking and honoring our patriotic employers for their help and support. We are grateful for their help and we also enjoin our community to honor them for their contributions,” said Sablan.
