EOC warns of possible flooding

Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain over Rota. The automated rain gauge indicated by 10am yesterday that more than two inches of rain have already fallen for the past three hours.

An urban and small stream flood advisory for Rotais now in effect.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches are possible over the few hours. This additional rain will likely cause minor flooding in low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or poor drainage areas is occurring or is imminent. These conditions will cause difficult driving conditions and minor flooding along streams and rivers.

People living in a low-lying or flood-prone areas are advised to be prepared for the possibility of flooding on your property over the next few hours. (EOC)
