Fresh trade winds and combined seas building to 8 to 10 feet will produce hazardous conditions for operators of small craft through tonight, Nov. 18, according to the CNMI Emergency Operations Center. A tropical disturbance is expected to bring scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to the region by this evening.

A small craft advisory is now in effect until 6am Thursday. East to northeast winds of 20 to 25 knots and combined seas building to 8 to 10 feet will produce hazardous conditions for operators of small craft.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, are being advised to avoid boating in these conditions. If travel by boat is necessary, exercise caution especially near reef lines and when entering or leaving harbors and inlets. (EOC)
