Alderson Broaddus University, located in Philippi, West Virginia, is a member of the United States National Collegiate Athletic Association and will officially receive Del Rosario’s Letter of Intent today, on National Signing Day.
The Mount Carmel School senior student said he is both relieved and humbled to have signed the letter of intent. “After nine years of playing hard until I graduate, it is a great feeling,” he told Saipan Tribune.
Del Rosario has been a part of many local and national soccer tournaments and was recently licensed as a soccer coach and is currently training MP United’s U15 girls soccer team.
Del Rosario started playing soccer when he was just 8 years old. In a previous interview with this reporter, the athlete said, “Soccer has been good to me over the years and I’m capitalizing on that opportunity to get a good education.”
He added, “I chose this school because the football program is amazing. I had a great conversation with the coach and it’s very exciting. From the fields, players, and staff, it’s all great.”
He plans to pursue a degree in sports science while playing U.S. NCAA soccer.
His father, Norman Del Rosario, said he is proud of his son’s accomplishment. “He worked so hard for it. It is proof that if you have a dream you have to go for it no matter how hard it is, because are the end of the day it is possible,” he said.
