Energy awareness outreach on Rota
The Department of Public Works through the Energy Division Office will be hosting the 2014 Rota Energy Awareness Campaign on Dec. 6, 2014, with two sessions (9am to 11am and 2pm to 4pm) at the Rota Mayor’s Office.
This event will provide the residential community tips on how to conserve energy at homes and how to save money using efficient products that carry the Energy Star label and educate the community on the importance of energy conservation in the Commonwealth.
The Energy Division through its Energy, Education, Efficiency and Conservation Program efforts will be distributing reusable shopping bags with Home Energy Savings Kits and raffle either a 16” pedestal fan or portable stove for each attendee.
Due to limited seating, interested individuals must pre-register with the CNMI Energy Division office to confirm attendance. Pre-registration will start on Wednesday Nov. 5, 2014, and end on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014. For more information and to register, call the Energy Division at 664-4480/4, Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm. In addition, registered attendees will be required to present a valid photo ID and a copy of their most recent utility bill in their name to be allowed to participate in the scheduled sessions. Those who fail to provide a photo ID and recent CUC bill at the time of the session will be turned away.
This project is made possible through a grant under the State Energy Program, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. (DPW)
