Employees of Tinian Executive Branch now 100% vaccinated
In compliance with the governor’s directive to all Executive Branch departments and activity heads last Feb. 19, 2021, the Executive Branch employees on Tinian are now 100% fully vaccinated.
There are roughly 300 employees under Tinian’s Executive Branch—all of whom have completed their COVID-19 vaccinations, excluding employees who have sought medical or religious exemptions.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected states, territories, and countries globally, hence the sentiment behind the governor’s mandate to promote a healthy and safe working environment for all government employees, most especially the community members who we serve on a daily basis.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the COVID-19 vaccine will not prevent individuals from getting infected; however, it will lessen the symptoms associated with contracting the virus by creating an antibody (immune system) response. How the vaccine may potentially reduce the spread of the virus continues to be studied by experts, but the COVID-19 vaccine is an important component in the effort to end this global pandemic.
Despite being fully vaccinated, the COVID-19 Task Force urges everyone to continue to adhere to the safety protocols and precautionary measures that are established as the 3Ws, such as: wearing a mask, watching your distance (6 feet apart from others), and washing your hands to prevent community spread.
The Municipality of Tinian and Aguiguan applauds Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., the COVID-19 Task Force, and all the first responders and front-liners for their sacrifice, hard work, and dedication in continuing to keep our people and islands safe from this global pandemic.
