Emon Lodge No. 179 donated $1,000 to Karidat Social Services, from funds raised during its recent Grand Master Golf Classic held on Jan 17.

Emon Lodge masons, chaplains, and outgoing worshipful master Daniel Banez presented the $1,000 check to Karidat executive director Angie Guerrero and staff, who expressed their sincere thanks to the visiting Emon Lodge members at the Karidat Office yesterday afternoon.

Fil Taga Golf association president William Retardo, who helped organize the golf tournament, was also present.

Retardo said they hope to have another fundraising golf tournament this year.

Banez said they give back to the community because their organization is part of the island. He said they have donated to Karidat three times in the past.

“We know Karidat has been helping people in need. That’s why we picked this organization to give our donation. Karidat is very important for everybody, not only for individuals of certain races but for everyone,” Banez said.
