There is an ongoing emergency water service interruption that started yesterday at 3:30pm and will last until today, Sept. 13, at 6am for Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers in the Kagman, Papago, San Vicente, Upper Dandan Homestead, Obyan and Naftan areas.

The emergency water service interruption is due to the isolation of the Kagman water tank due to low tank level and to ensure that customers will receive water this morning. Water operators are troubleshooting the cause of the low tank level by identifying leaks in the transmission and distribution system. Updates for the scheduled water services for the affected areas will be released today.

Last Thursday, CUC.’s power plant on Rota experienced a mechanical problem on the engines at around 9:07am that caused an islandwide power outage.

CUC Rota personnel worked throughout the day to identify the cause of the problem and additional personnel from CUC Saipan and Hawthorne CAT were sent to assist CUC Rota with the troubleshooting and restoration of power services. (PR)
