There was an emergency water service interruption in the As Matuis area last night due to a booster pump motor electrical failure.

Water operations personnel were making the necessary repairs and expected to complete work last night at 8pm. Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers in the affected areas should expect restoration of regular water service.

At the same time, there was an emergency water service interruption in the Chalan Laulau, Middle Road and Beach Road areas last night due to a 16-inch water main break fronting the Veterinarian’s Hospital in Chalan Laulau. Water operations personnel were working with IT&E cable locators for the assessment of cable lines within the work site before repairing the damaged water line. Work was expected to be completed midnight last night and customers in the affected areas should expect restoration of regular water service soon. For the safety of CUC men and women working at the site, motorists are advised to proceed with caution and take alternative routes when traveling by the area.
