The 2019-2020 Public School System Interscholastic Co-ed Elementary Volleyball Basketball Tournament will start this Saturday at the Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School and Oleai Elementary School.

The competition is for fourth and fifth graders and will run for three Saturdays with the single-elimination championship round set for Dec. 14 at the Oleai Sports Complex Field. The second phase of the tournament is scheduled for Dec. 7. Results of the first two Saturdays of the competition will be used for playoff seeding purposes.

According to PSS Athletic Program director Nick Gross, they will have three nets available at GTC and Oleai, so games are expected to run smoothly. Each match is a race to 25 points affair with a cap of 30.

Host Oleai is in Pool B and will be playing against William S. Reyes Elemtary School, Koblerville Elementary School, Saipan International School, Mount Carmel School, and Saipan Community School. Pool A has GTC, Kagman Elementary School, Garapan Elementary School, and Grace Christian Academy 1 and 2.

Meanwhile, the “middle seeds” are reserved for Rota and Tinian should they attend the championship round.
