Election Commission to conduct voter registration drives in Guam

The Commonwealth Election Commission would like to advice all CNMI residents both in the CNMI and those residing in Guam who are U.S. citizens that the commission will be conducting voter registration drives in Guam on Aug. 21 through Aug. 23, 2014.

Times for the registration drive in Guam will be 10am to 6pm on Aug. 21 and 22 and from 9am to 4pm on Aug. 23.

The registration drive will be at the Verona Hotel in Tumon. Individuals must provide either a copy of a valid U.S. passport or a copy of a certificate of live birth to register.

In addition, the Commonwealth Election Commission would like to remind all CNMI resident that the commission’s office in Susupe will continue to conduct voter registrations every Saturday, which started on May 3, 2014, from 10am to 2pm for those CNMI residents who would like to vote during the 2014 general election to be held on Nov. 4, 2014. Again, individuals must provide either a copy of a valid U.S. passport or a copy of a certificate of live birth to register.

Last day to register to vote for the 2014 general election is Friday, Sept. 5, 2014.

Lastly, the Commission would also like to remind all individuals who are interested in seeking a seat during the upcoming 2014 general election that the last day to file their petitions for candidacy packet is on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at the commission’s office in Susupe, Saipan. Individuals on Tinian and Rota may file their candidacy petition packet with the commission’s staff at the Department of Public Safety offices on each island between the hours of 1pm and 4pm on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014.
