Eina leads pitching race in Jr. League

(Walter Sutherland) Hawaiya Technologies, Inc. Ol’Aces’ southpaw Terson Eina is all over the latest Saipan Little League Baseball statistics charts for Junior League released last Saturday.

Eina (3-0) has allowed just two earned runs in 14.1 innings off six hits through four games for an impressive 0.98 Earned Run Average. He is ahead of Jerald Cabrera (4ER/11.1IP/5H/2-0/2.47ERA/2G), Jonathan Camacho (5ER/12.1IP/11H/1-1/2.84ERA/3G), and Caleb Takao (5ER/11.1IP/17H/0-3.3.09ERA/3G). The statistics were based on at least 11 innings pitched.

Eina’s 22 strikeouts topped the field with Red Sox’s Nathan Camacho (14), Takao (12), Brel (10), Cedric Camacho (10) and Jonathan Camacho (10) still in pursuit.

In the batting category, Eina is second behind Saipan Shipping Company Jets’ KJ Deleon Guerrero, who was 12-for-16 at bat for an average of .750 against the former’s .714 (10-for-14). Others on the list were IT&E Fielders’ Kainao Wanket (7-12/0.583), Aces’ Jessie Brel (11-22/0.500), Bank Of Saipan Red Sox’s Roke Tenorio (8-16/0.500) and Cabrera (9-19/0.474), Ol’Aces’ Ben Maratita (8-17/0.471) and DPS Dare Program Leep Enforcers-trio Cedric Camacho (8-19/0.421), Takao (7-17/0.412), and Darion Jones (7-17/0.412). Two other players are swinging .400 or better and the statistics were based on at least 10 at bats.

Muna’s eight RBIs lead the league ahead of Deleon Guerrero (7), Brel (7), Verlance Secharmedal (6), and Maratita (6). Muna also has the most doubles so far with four, while Deleon Guerrero and Maratita have three apiece, and eight others have a pair each.

The Fielders’ Anthony Agulto and Jonathan Camacho, Jets’ Franco Nakamura and Takao all have a homer under their belts, while Tenorio, Secharmedal and Nakamura lead the league in triples with three apiece; five others are tied with two.

Brel has scored a league-best 17 times with Muna (14), Secharmedal (11), Deleon Guerrero (10), Red Sox’s Jhace Palacios (9), Nakamura (9) and Cedric Camacho (8) trying to make up ground. Four others are tied with seven.

Nakamura tops Big League batting

Docomo Pacific Ol’Aces’ Harry Nakamura holds the batting lead in the Senior League.

Nakamura was 11-for-20 as of Saturday for an average of .550.

Nakamura, who is only big league player with at least 13 at bats swinging over .500, is edging IT&E Fielders’ Patrick Tenorio (11-20/0.500BA) with Sen. Ralph Deleon Guerrero Torres-Rep.Basa-F.P. Deleon Guerrero Kagman Lions’ Richard Dela Cruz (7-15/0.476), Ol’ Aces’ Keoni Lizama (10-22/0.455), Lions’ Leroy Regis (7-16/0.438), Aces’ Rocco Reyes (9-21/0.429), Hustlers’ Manny Flores (8-19/0.421), Ol’Aces’ Lamarc Iguel (0-22/0.409) and Diego Camacho (10-25/0.400) and Fielders’ Jonah Villagomez (6-15/0.400) rounding out the Top 10. The batting leaders were based on at least 13 at bats. Three other batters are swinging above .300.

Nakamura’s four doubles top the class and he also leads in RBIs with 10, ahead of teammates Jacob Flores (9), Lizama (8) and Reyes (7). The OL’ Aces’ speedster Leonard Sablan’s two homers front the league ahead of seven others. The Hustlers’ MacGarette.

Lieto, Kaipat ahead in Senior League

In the Senior League, IT&E Fielders’ Francisco Lieto leads the division at the plate with 10 hits in 17 at bats for an average of .588, while teammate Keoni Kaipat (2-0) has maintained a 2.88 ERA from the hump.

Lieto is in front of Marianas Cable Vision-Sen. Ramon S. Basa-Rep. Frederick P. Deleon Guerrero Kagman Lions’ Paul Celis (.556), Docomo Pacific Ol’Aces’ AJ Lizama (.542), Natibu Sports Association Tanapag Falcons’ Raymond Saralu (.533), Rep. Antonio Sablan-Eliceo D. Cabrera Hunters’ Steven Cabrera (.500), Aces’ Frankie Camacho (.500), Juan Santiago Jets II’s Jonathan Villagomez (.500), Lions’ Justin Santos (.476), and Fielders’ Gayvin Uchau (.471) and Khobby Kaipat. (.471). The statistics was based on at least 12 at bats.

The Ol’Aces’ Jun Rabauliman has cranked out 11 RBIs and leads Fielders’ James Aldan (9), Lieto (8), Aces’ TJ Sablan (8), and seven others.

The Jets II’s Shane Deleon Guerrero leads the league in homers with three, but Fielders’ Ian Rogolfoi (2) is hot in pursuit. Lizama leads in triples with four ahead of a trio with three apiece.

Saralu’s three doubles top 10 others, while the Ol’Aces’ Lancaster Secharmedal has crossed the plate a league-best 13 times. Saipan Shipping Company Jets I’s Mathew Maeda and Hunters’ Jerome Reyes trail Secharmedal by a run with Lieto (11) and Aces’ Jonah Flores (11) close behind.

In pitching, Kaipat has allowed seven earned runs and nine hits in 17 innings (four games) and leads the league in strikeouts with 24 ahead of Lizama (19) and Lions’ Dave Matagolai (17). Kaipt leads Cabrera (9ER/15.1IP/14H/2-0/4.11ERA/4G), the Jets I’s Allan Cabrera (12ER/15.2IP/16H/0-2/5.36ERA/5G), and Hunters’ Alex Monkeya (11ER/14IP/14H/0-2/5.50ERA/3G). The statistics was based on at least 14 innings pitched.
