Eats Easy and Paire Football Club arranged their championship showdown in the 8×8 NMIFA Winter Masters League 2019 after recording easy victories in their respective semis matches last Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Paire notched the first finals berth after winning via forfeiture over Los Viejos, while Eats Easy hammered Matansa, 21-2, in the other Final Four duel. Eats Easy and Paire will dispute the season crown this Sunday at 6pm after the 4:30pm consolation game between Matansa and Los Viejos.

Martin Jambor started Eats Easy’s demolition of Matansa with his goal in the eighth minute. He went on to pepper Matansa’s defense or the lack of it with strings of goals, as he ended up scoring 11. Jershwin Angeles added three, while Panapa Peteru, Fradel Sedillo, and Michiteru Mita contributed two apiece, and Suguru Takahashi chipped in one.

Matansa’s two goals came from Lar Wongpaya and Alvin Takai, who hit the board in the 21st and 55th minute, respectively.

The semis win over Matansa was Eats Easy’s fourth in as many games in the short tournament.

Jambor and company swept the round-robin play to gain the top seeding. Eats Easy also scored the most goals in the preliminaries with its 31 and yielded the least (12).

Paire finished second with its 2-0-1 mark after scoring 16 goals and giving up 18. Los Viejos was ranked third with its 1-0-2 slate, while Matansa placed last after failing to win a single game.
