In the masters division, MJD/GPPC dominated KB Market, 87-67, to win its debut game, while Ask Y U B also had a rousing start after crushing 5 Star Construction, 127-43, in their open division pairing.

5 Star Construction, which is composed of newcomers in Saipan basketball, was beaten black and blue by Ask Y U B right from the get-go with the latter erecting a 37-10 advantage. By halftime, Ask Y U B had the game in the bag, extending its lead to 63-20.

Ask Y U B made all kinds of shots, capitalizing on 5 Star Construction’s lack of defensive stance en route to its 84-point winning margin.

Dave Camacho led Ask Y U B’s demolition of 5 Star Construction, drilling 31 points, while Djay Ong and Josh Sablan chipped in 28 and 26, respectively. Sablan made 24 of his total markers from downtown, as he nailed a lot of uncontested shots with 5 Star Construction players helplessly watching Ask Y U B tore them apart. Alex Standish contributed 16, Keoni Chariton added 10, and Sid Quan and Jethro Cruz tallied 8 markers apiece to complete Ask Y U B’s box score.

Ryan Boglie paced 5 Star Construction with his 13 markers.

In the masters division, MJD/GPPC manhandled KB Market behind the 37-point explosion of Jun Tabora.

Tabora also drew help from three of his teammates with big man Jorge De Guzman recording 13 points and Randy Mungcal and Jun Alipio registering 13 and 10, respectively.

Tabora, Mungcal, and De Guzman found their targets early in the game, lifting MJD/GPPC to a 31-20 advantage at the end of the first period. MJD/GPPC never looked back from thereon, as KB Market failed to neutralize Tabora.
