Easy win for MP United, Paire

Paire Football Club and MP United FC waltzed past their respective opponents in the boys U15 division matches in the 2018 NMIFA Spring Youth League last Saturday at the Koblerville Elementary School Field.
MP United played in the last game of the triple-header and closed out the action for the weekend with a 3-0 shutout victory over TanHoldings FC. Rintaro Miyawaki had a pair of goals for MP United, while Jason Quimzon made the other one for the winning team. Miyawaki drew first blood for MP United with his conversion in the 29th minute, while his second one came in the 58th. Quimzon lit up the board in the 41st minute.
In the second game, Paire coasted past Shirley’s FC, 7-3, behind the outstanding game of Kaden Church.
Church outscored the entire Shirley’s crew after firing four goals. He had back-to-back shots in the 15th and 16th minute and did the same in the second half when he recorded his pair in the 38th and 57th.
Jon Villagomez and Dylan Mister added one goal each to Church’s brace in the first half to lift Paire to a 4-2 advantage. Villagomez scored in the 22nd minute, while Mister followed suit a minute later. Mister then handed Paire its last goal in the 66th minute.
Shirley’s three goals were courtesy of Josh David Joson, Rakib Hassan, and Elijah, who found the back of the net in the sixth, 27th, and 40th minute, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the first match, Kanoa edged Matansa, 2-1.
Ian Maniago and Brian Lubao delivered the goals for Kanoa in the second half with the former hitting his target in the 48th minute and the latter in the 63rd. Matansa avoided a shutout loss, thanks to an error from Kanoa, the losing squad got an own goal in the 66th minute.
After beating Matansa, Kanoa will go for another victory this Saturday when it takes on Shirley’s in the last game at 4pm. In the two other matches this weekend, Paire will challenge the unbeaten MP United at 1pm, while TanHoldings will try to bounce back when it duels Matansa at 2:30pm.
