Easy victories in girls U15 division

Southern United Football Club, Kanoa FC, and Shirley’s FC coasted past their respective opponents in the girls U15 division of the 2017 NMIFA Fall Youth League last Saturday at the Francisco M. Sablan Middle School Field.

Southern United posted the most lopsided win after crushing TanHoldings, 10-1. Southern United broke the game wide open in the second half after firing eight goals. Before its juggernaut, Southern United was ahead by only one after the first half, 2-1.

Jerlyn Castillo powered Southern United to the convincing victory after hitting four goals. She scored all of them in the second half with the first one coming in the 46th minute and the last three in the 51st, 54th, and 84th minute. Keisha Deleon Guerrero contributed three goals, while Katelyn Palacios added two, and Mariana Castro made one. TanHoldings drew its lone goal from Mary Joy Aniana.

In other results, Shirley’s notched its third win in as many games after topping Paire, 5-0.

Four different players hit the board for the defending champion with Katherine Magat starting things out for Shirley’s with her shot in the ninth minute. A minute later, Lily Podziewski scored, while Valeria Myers and Therize Millare followed suit in the 33rd and 39th minute. Shirley’s fifth goal came off a Paire error in the 46th minute.

Paulyn Joyce posted the most goals last weekend with her five lifting Kanoa to a 7-1 triumph over MP United. Joyce knocked in four straight goals, scoring in the 21st, 33rd, 34th, and 50th minute, while her last was registered in the 53rd. Sharmaine Francisco handed Kanoa its first goal in the 15th minute, while Princess Alcantara found the back of the net in the 52nd. MP United’s lone goal was courtesy of Maury Zon Tybaco, who hit her target in the 60th minute.

TanHoldings edged National Development Academy in a make-up game last Friday at the Hopwood Middle School Field.

Joshua Waldo and Kirro Batino delivered the goals for TanHoldings, lighting up the board in the 33rd and 51st minute, respectively.

TanHoldings returned to the Hopwood pitch last Saturday and settled for a draw against MP United.

Jonathan Capayas put TanHoldings in the lead with his shot in the 28th minute, but MP United equalized, thanks to Sunjoon Tenorio’s goal three minutes later.

Paire 2, Kanoa 1
Paire slipped past Kanoa in the first game in the division last Saturday.
Paire tallied all its goals in the second half to take the close victory. Logan Mister recorded the first goal for Paire, while George Shokarev posted the go-ahead. Merrick Toves gave Kanoa its lone goal, scoring in the 28th minute.

Matansa 2, NDA 0
Matansa handed NDA back-to-back losses after shutting down the latter in the final game last weekend.
Daniel Joshua Malig registered the first goal for Matansa in the 42nd minute, while Louie Calayag found his target in the 48th.
