CEC designates polling places for early voting, Nov. 8 general election

The Commonwealth Election Commission has announced the designated polling places for the start of early voting tomorrow in the CNMI.

CEC executive director Julita A. Villagomez said the early voting for Saipan, Tinian, and Rota will commence on Tuesday, Nov. 1, and end on Nov. 7.

Villagomez said polling places for all three senatorial districts will open at 8:30am and close at 4pm each day, including weekends.

Villagomez earlier disclosed that all voters for the Northern Islands will also be casting their votes under the early voting system.

There are only 160-some Northern Island voters. At present, there are no voters staying on the Northern Islands.

Villagomez said there are also no absentee voters from the Northern Islands.

For Saipan voters, the polling place will be at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.

For Tinian and Rota voters, the designated polling places are the islands’ Department of Public Safety buildings.

Meanwhile, the CEC announced that the designated polling places for the Nov. 8 general election will open at 7am and close at 7pm that same day.

The designated polling places are the following:

-Precinct 1A (San Antonio)—Hopwood Junior High School

-Precinct 1B (San Vicente/Dandan)—Dandan Elementary School

-Precinct 1C (Koblerville)—Koblerville Youth Center

-Precinct 2 (Chalan Kanoa/Susupe)—Joeten Kiyu Public Library

-Precinct 3A (Oleai)—Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium

-Precinct 3B (Garapan)—Garapan Elementary School cafeteria

-Precinct 4A (Tanapag)—Tanapag Elem. School cafeteria

-Precinct 4B (San Roque/As Matuis)—Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School

-Precinct 4C (Capital Hill)—Jesus P. Mafnas Legislative Building

-Precinct 4D (Northern Islands)—Northern Islands

-Precinct 5 (Kagman)—Kagman Elementary School cafeteria

-Precinct 6 (Tinian)—Tinian Elementary School

-Precinct 7 (Rota)—Northern Marianas College campus-Rota

CEC administrative officer Kayla Igitol reminded voters to bring with them an identification card with picture as they will be required to present it in order to be issued a ballot.
