E-Land spends $100K to enhance public structures
The E-Land Group has been giving back to the community through many projects that so far amount to over $100,000.
The parent company of Micronesia Resort Inc., which owns the Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort and Kensington Resort, has sponsored many projects that include renovation of pavilions, restrooms in public beaches, bus shelter maintenance, building of school stages, environmental programs with schools, and more.
According to E-Land Corporate Social Responsibility’s Jieun Ko, the management’s philosophy is to return 10 percent of what they earn to the community. The 10 percent is directed to charities and infrastructural advancement projects.
As an example, E-Land recently renovated 12 pavilions. This year alone, three pavilions were added to the Unai Dangkulo Beach Park behind Coral Ocean Point. The pavilions were renovated to enhance the barbecue pits and to add benches.
Three pavilions were renovated along the 13 Fishermen’s Monument along Beach Road. The project enhanced the pavilions and more stable.
Five pavilions were renovated at Paupau Beach Park. Renovations included additional benches to the pavilions and more barbecue pits.
According to Ko, portable restrooms were also placed at the Paupau Beach Park.
E-Land sponsors the rent and maintenance of the portable restrooms. The rent and maintenance of the two portable restrooms at Paupau costs $480 a month.
Other projects include the renovations of the Minachom Atdao Pavilion at the end of 2016, the newly built stage at Saipan Southern High School, renovation of five bus shelters in Koblerville, and another one in Paupau.
