DUI checkpoint on Thursday

The Department of Public Safety’s Highway Patrol Unit and Traffic Investigations Unit will be conducting sobriety checkpoints on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.

The first setup will be on Beach Road Garapan across Bank Pacific on the southbound lane from 8pm to 9:15pm.
The second setup will be on Beach Road Chalan Kanoa in front of Super Fresh Market on the northbound lane from 11pm to 12:15am.
Each checkpoint conducted will last at least 75minutes at each location.

This activity is part of the department’s effort to deter, detect, and apprehend impaired drivers and ensure that all vehicle occupants are protected.

In addition, officers will be doing highway criminal interdictions, saturations patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and speed enforcement. (DPS)
