DPS: Missing woman still on island

The Department of Public Safety has looked into airline records and found nothing to indicate that the woman who has been reported missing, Florita Arbas Rivera, may have left the CNMI.

Rivera, who has been missing since Nov. 26, 2019, reportedly did not leave Saipan, according to DPS spokesperson Dre Pangelinan.

In addition, DPS also found a note in Rivera’s house asking for prayers from her loved ones, Pangelinan said.

“DPS can confirm that she has not left the island. A short note was found in Ms. Rivera’s apartment asking family members to pray for her. As of right now, that is the only info,” he said.

Rivera was reported missing last Nov. 26 after she failed to report for work and was nowhere to be found. Her cell phone and keys, however, were found at her home in Garapan.

DPS describes Rivera as 5’4” tall, weighs 160 lbs. with black hair, and brown eyes.
