The Department of Public Safety is looking into a video circulating on social media sources containing images of weaponry.

In a news release last night, DPS said it was advised of a possible threat of violence being circulated yesterday afternoon, “and we would like to thank the community for keeping us informed whenever they come across these forwarded posts. As with all reports and complaints, we take this with the utmost seriousness and will be investigating this video thoroughly.

“At this time the department is not able to confirm if this video was recorded recently or locally.

“DPS also would like to emphasize that the community’s safety is our No. 1 priority.

“We ask that the public remain vigilant and continue to report anything suspicious. Anyone with information about the clip’s origin is encouraged to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 664-9064 or 911, or the CNMI Crime Stoppers hotline at 234-7272. (DPS)
